Jason Parker

After completing the Hampton Roads Joint Apprentice Training Committee program in 1993, Jason worked his way through a variety of roles including journeyman electrician, wind tunnel power generation technician, dispatcher for NASA Langley, motor circuit analyst, and infrared thermographer before being elected as President and appointed as Assistant Business Agent of IBEW Local 1340 of Newport News Virginia in 2013.

Jason’s leadership roles during his time in the field included Chairman of the NASA Maintenance Safety Committee, Chairman of the NASA Maintenance Group, Recording Secretary and Chairman of the Political Committee of IBEW LU 1340.

In 2018 Jason was elected as president of the Virginia State Building and Construction Trades Council and in 2022 was elected as the Secretary-Treasurer of the Virginia AFL-CIO. He currently serves in both those roles as well as the Secretary-Treasurer of the Hampton Roads Building and Construction Trades Council and as the Vice President of IBEW LU 1340.
